Sacha Baron Cohen And Isla Fisher Announce Their Divorce

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have announced their divorce in Instagram Story on Friday. “After a marathon tennis match spanning over two decades, we’re finally hanging up our rackets. In 2023, we mutually filed for divorce,” the pair shared through their individual posts, accompanied by a snapshot of them donning matching tennis attire.

“Privacy has always been our priority, and we’ve been quietly navigating this transition,” the statements conveyed. “Our love and dedication to our children remain unwavering. We genuinely appreciate your respect for our family’s desire for privacy.”

Baron Cohen and Fisher exchanged vows in 2010 following a six-year engagement, blessing them with two daughters and a son.

Their initial encounter occurred in Sydney circa 2000. Reflecting on their meeting, Baron Cohen revealed to The New York Times in 2020 how he found his future spouse “hilarious.”

“We clicked at a rather pretentious gathering, poking fun at other attendees. I knew right away. Not sure if she did,” he quipped. “Took her about 20 years to catch on.”

Despite their prominence in Hollywood, Fisher has previously emphasized the importance of maintaining their marriage away from the limelight.

“I’m cautious discussing it because by keeping our relationship private and refraining from divulging how we met or delving into our marriage publicly, it has retained its privacy and significance,” she shared with Australian Women’s Weekly in 2022.

“I’m not certain if that’s the secret,” she mused. “But sharing a mutual appreciation for finding humor in life’s challenges fosters a strong bond… And besides, some things are best kept to oneself.”

Recent headlines have focused on Baron Cohen, following claims by actor Rebel Wilson that the “Borat” star pressured her to disrobe in the 2016 film “The Brothers Grimsby,” along with other inappropriate requests.

Responding to the allegations made by the “Pitch Perfect” actor, a spokesperson for Baron Cohen issued a statement last month, asserting, “While we acknowledge the importance of speaking out, these unfounded allegations are directly refuted by substantial evidence, including contemporaneous records, footage, and firsthand testimonies from those involved before, during, and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
